How it works
Temperature scales have different zero points, so they cannot be converted with a simple factor. The converter works through kelvin: 0 °C is 273.15 K and 32 °F, and a change of 1 °C equals a change of 1.8 °F. Kelvin and Rankine start at absolute zero.
Worked examples
- 0 °C = 273.15 K
- 100 °C = 212 °F
- -40 °F = -40 °C
